UK Legal Sector Report released by Last Exit
Last Exit have released the second of their annual digital benchmark reports, ranking key companies in a variety of sectors.
The 2012 Legal Sector report analyses the digital presences of 30 of the UK’s leading law firms. Criteria under scrutiny include mobile optimisation, content quality, design and social media excellence.
Law firms Berwin Leighton Paisner and DLA Piper are judged to have the best online presences, taking joint first place with their ‘Good’ grading. However, the majority of firms, 18 out of 30, are judged to be ‘Mediocre’ in their online offerings.
Across the sector, the report finds that many websites lack focus and that there’s little evidence of audience segmentation. Few sites are designed for ease of use on multiple devices, content is often poorly organised and that attention needs to be paid to search engine optimisation. Take up of social media is generally poor.
There’s space in this sector for early adopters and pioneers to make their mark, to use digital to create a competitive advantage.
